BioSort's iFarm system transforms salmon farming by enabling individual fish monitoring and care. Using advanced 3D scanning and machine vision, iFarm identifies each fish by its unique head spot pattern, creating individual health journals to track health, lice count, and growth over time. Adigo contributed significantly to iFarm's concept development, mechanical design, optics, machine vision, prototyping, testing, and pilot implementation. The system leverages salmon's natural surfacing behavior for scanning, minimizing stress on the fish. iFarm allows targeted treatment of affected fish and selective harvesting, shifting from group-based to individualized care. This innovative approach promises to improve resource utilization, disease control, and efficiency in salmon farming, marking a significant advance in sustainable aquaculture practices.
